01 The idea

A song, one yes at a time

Can we make our society better for people and nature?

There’s only one button. Press it, and you play one note of Den blomstertid nu kommer, the Swedish summer hymn. Not the whole song. Just your note.

The next person plays the next one. Nobody gets the whole tune on their own. Everybody who says yes gets to be part of it.

02 Under the hood

53 notes, in order

  • The hymn is cut into 53 notes. Each press plays the next one, from the speaker in the room’s flower corner.
  • Every note rings out for around ten seconds in a shimmering reverb, so a busy afternoon becomes a slow, overlapping chorus.
  • The cloud above the room blinks with every yes.
  • The button is an ESP32 that talks to the room over MQTT, like everything else in here.

Got something big to say? Let’s make it a place.
