A case study for Dino Experience, Stockholm
A children’s book steps off the page, and asks the kids for help
A book about the dinosaurs. A volcano erupts. Fires spread across their world. And the dinosaurs can’t put them out alone.
How do you bring a children’s book about the history of the dinosaurs to life?
Inside Dino Experience in Stockholm, which opened in October 2026.
A book is something you watch. We wanted the children inside it.
So we didn’t try to retell the whole book. We chose one moment: the volcano, the fire, the dinosaurs in trouble.
A 2 × 2.5 m wall waits with the scene on it. Step up and touch it.
Every child who reaches the wall helps the dinosaurs put out the fires. It’s built for a crowd, so nobody has to wait for a turn.
Visitors become rescuers. Nobody is an extra.
The scene was modelled in Blender and TouchDesigner.
Two Orbbec Femto depth cameras turn the LED wall into a touch surface, so many hands can reach in at the same time. All touch interaction runs through a custom Python controller.
We took the project from first concept to installed wall: concept development, game programming, interaction design, sound design, installation and project management.
